How to reach Tadoba
The Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve sits in Chandrapur district in eastern Maharashtra. Getting there is straightforward from Nagpur and genuinely easy from Chandrapur — and for anyone coming from Pune or Mumbai, the sensible route is a flight rather than the highway.
By road

Coming from Pune or Mumbai? Fly to Nagpur
Driving from either city is around 780 km and a solid 12 to 14 hours. Almost nobody does it twice. The route that actually works:
- Fly Pune or Mumbai to Nagpur — a little over an hour, with frequent daily services.
- Drive Nagpur to the reserve — roughly 140 km, 2.5 to 3 hours on good road.
Door to door that is comfortably a half-day rather than a full one, which is what makes a weekend at Tadoba realistic from either city.
By air
Nagpur (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport) is the nearest airport, about 140 km away, and is well connected to Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Hire a car at the airport or arrange a pickup in advance — public transport onward to the gates is limited.
By train
Chandrapur is the nearest major railhead, roughly 45 km from the reserve and on the main line through to Nagpur. From there it is a short taxi ride to the buffer gates — Chora Gate at Bhadrawati is about 26 km on.
